Event Overview

Finance headlines around the world blazon emerging disruptive technological forces as the next revolution in the investment and finance industry: Decentralised digital ledgers of economic transactions, peer-to-peer electronic cash systems implementing cryptocurrency, and automated robo-advisors are swiftly changing the shape and dynamics in the finance world. The ability to adapt and harness new efficiencies with transactional clarity and integrity will prove to be the best path forward in our increasingly digital age.

At the Inaugural New Zealand Investment Conference, we will address some of these forces driving the winds of change. Will the investing public accept financial advice from a machine? Can robo-advisors really replace human financial advisors? What influence will disruptive technology have on the sector? How will blockchain technology impact local markets? How much are traditional financial institutions at risk to standalone FinTech companies? And end-user created investment solutions? What technology is there to enable investments into new markets? Which companies are leveraging new distribution channels, such as social media and mobile phones, to reach and engage more customers?

The CFA Institute and CFA Society of New Zealand are recognized as the trailblazers of thought leadership and ethics in the investment and finance industry. At our Inaugural New Zealand Conference in Auckland, local and international experts will provide insights on the dynamics and fluidity, security impacts of the rise of disruptive technologies and share their knowledge on forward-looking strategies and investment management practice. This event is a must for all those who want to stay ahead of the game.
